Venue: Broadcast live at Teddington Lock Studios, London

Speed Stacks was asked to come and demonstrate Sport Stacking on the very popular daytime TV show, "Today with Des & Mel". The show is the most watched daytime show in the U.K, averaging an audience of 2 million per episode. The Friday show on which Speed Stacks had been invited also happened to be live and is broadcast in front of a studio audience.

The presenters of the show were the ever popular Melanie Sykes and the always manic Paul O'Grady (Des was on a break).

After waiting back stage with other guests that included Patrick Stewart (Star Trek,The Next Generation & X-men) Comedian Cathy Tate and soap star Ken Morley, Kate was given her chance!

"When stacking at Warp Speed you have to Cling-on"...
Kate joined the two presenters on stage and gave a demonstration of the fast stacking attainable in Speed Stacking. Whilst this was happening Paul kept shouting "she's not human" and described her as "Super Girl".

Kate then gave Mel & Paul a quick coaching session on how to stack and showed them how to use the StackMat™ with its timer.

Paul O'Grady and Melanie Sykes ask Kate Parker about sport stacking and it's origins.

Ready, Set, Go!
Then it was time for the two presenters to race with Kate officiating.
Mel was very careful and showed great concentration as she stacked, but for Paul it was a different story!  Paul, who by his own admissions cannot even tie his own shoelaces, looked as if he was juggling hot coals. He quickly put down his cups and, with the sound of the audience laughing, ran out of the doors at the back of the set!

A smiling Mel was declared the winner to the delight of the studio audience!

Mel and Paul thanked Kate and wished her well in the coming World Championships and she left the set to the sound of applause.

Speed Stacks "boldly glows where no other Stacks have glowed before!
Patrick Stewart had taken the time to speak to Kate earlier in the day and said he was very impressed with her stacking and also said he was going to look up the Speed Stacks website... Live Long and Stack Fast!
