Introduced by Paul Sykes, the Director of the Bulwell Education Action Zone, the sport of stacking was shown to students from one of the EAZ secondary schools on a residential study event. Primary schools in the Bulwell Education Action Zone also started to adopt the new sport and geared themselves up.

The school where Speed Stacks, Inc. did its initial demonstration has also now built stacking into their Physical Education curriculum.

The fun of stacking remains universal
In July [2003], the Bulwell Inter-School Competition was held with five schools taking part with about 10 teams in total.

Children and their teachers across the UK stack as the sport catches on.
