Friday 24th October > Saturday 1st November 2003

If the product you wished to promote boasted, amongst many other things, the world's tallest... fastest... shortest... largest!

Speed Stacks and Chris Greener, Britain's "tallest man".

Who would you use to promote your launch?

Perhaps the world’s fastest escapologist!

Or the world’s strongest person!

Maybe the worlds best juggler!

You may have decided that a guy standing on a tall plinth would be an impressive spectacle!

When Guinness World Records wanted something impressive and exciting to help launch 'The Guinness Book of Records 2004 Edition', they looked no further than Speed Stacks and sport stacking!

Speed Stacks Ltd, who are based in the U.K, were asked to demonstrate at five cities throughout the U.K.

Back Row, L to R: Lauren Clark (14), David Briggs (14), Kate Parker (14), Phillip Cheng (12).
Front Row, L to R - Falon Nicholls (6), Leanne Briggs (12).

The locations visited during the week were: Gateshead, Nottingham, Manchester, Lakeside & Basingstoke.

At each event a team of Speed Stacks demonstrators took to the stage, and in front of local T.V and media, wowed the locals with amazing feats of stacking.

Crowds gathered and watched spellbound as the various stacks were erected and dismantled at lightening speed before their eyes!

In between the demonstrations, Speed Stacks held workshops.

The workshops gave members of the public the opportunity to learn the exciting sport.

Kate White, Guinness World Records event organiser said, "The stacking was a great crowd puller. . .

and I think that if it wasn’t for the professionalism (and endurance!) of all of the cup stackers the shows would not have been so successful”.

Ron Parker, of Speed Stacks Ltd said, “The events were fun” and “a fantastic experience”.

He also paid tribute to the U.K demonstration team for their efforts, giving special praise to Leanne Briggs who traveled to many of the events and set personal bests at each one, and his daughter Kate who produced an amazing best of 8.02 seconds for the cycle stack!
