Jeff Long wanted to let us know that he is now a Program Director for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Springfield (MO). Jeff says, "I have been working there for about two weeks now. I have introduced stacking, and the club members just love it! They are always asking when we can do stacking. The kids are getting better at it each day. The teens that come to our club even like stacking." Jeff plans on taking a group of club members to the MO State Championships, too! |

Many students are introduced to the sport of stacking in physical education class. "Stacking is excellent for children of elementary ages! It helps them learn to use both of their hands (ambidexterity) which helps develop bilateral movement. Research shows that when you use both sides of your body, you are stimulating both sides of your brain. In addition to these thoughts, stacking also helps with sequencing skills. Kids must remember the patterns and rules when stacking." Stacking clubs are great for students who are interested in improving their stacking skills. During this time, club members learn advanced stacking skills and practice to improve their times in preparation for competition. |
